The Elements Course is a semi-private series of classes designed to prepare you for CrossFit classes at Grind City CrossFit. You will spend six sessions over two weeks immersing yourself in CrossFit movements and methodologies. After completing Elements you will feel confident and ready for our group classes. You will also have clear goals and a plan for crushing your fitness and health goals!
Each class includes instruction and application of new movements followed by a workout and discussion topic. Topics include Nutrition, Goal Setting, Training Intensity, Sleep & Stress, Recovery, and more!
Spots are limited to insure plenty of one-on-one instruction. Elements is mandatory for all new members to Grind City CrossFit.
Each enrolled member receives one of our new Elements Course Packets! Each packet includes helpful information on CrossFit training, Goal Setting and Results Tracking.

By passing our Movement Screen you can start attending our CrossFit classes immediately. If you are unable to pass the Movement Screen, we recommend attending our Core CrossFit classes for an additional amount of time.

CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program designed to optimize physical competence in ten recognized domains: Cardiovascular and Respiratory Endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, and Accuracy. Our approach to fitness is evidence based and supported by measurable, observable, repeatable facts. We believe that harnessing the natural camaraderie, competition, and fun of sport, yields an intensity that cannot be matched by other means.
Barbell classes focus on Olympic Weightlifting with an aim to improve the Snatch and Clean & Jerk. We have found that the most successful CrossFit athletes have a strong foundation in the Olympic Lifts. Barbell classes follow set cycles ranging from Introductory, to more Advanced cycles prepping lifters for competition. Our Barbell classes are great whether you are looking to improve your technique, proficiency, and strength, or wanting to pursue Olympic Weightlifting as a sport.

Lincoln has held numerous certifications, including USA Weightlifting Club Coach, USAW referee, Crossfit certifications in Olympic Weightlifting, Gymnastics, Nutrition, and the CSCS certification from the National Strength Coach Association. He has been a Crossfit Level 2 trainer since 2005. Linc has been coaching the Olympic-style lifts for eleven years. He has taught other trainers and their clients at workshops and certification seminars all over the west coast and Canada. He has been a coach at both the Crossfit Level 1 certification and the Crossfit Olympic Lifting certification.
CrossFit is effective with everyone, period. Everyone has the capability to see results with CrossFit and we make it easy, all you have to do is the work. Not only do we help you by programming your entire warm up, workout and cool down; we encourage you and stand by you the entire way. CrossFit is a community and a way of life; it is the great equalizer. Our programming makes the weak stronger, the slow faster, and most importantly the unhappy, happy. You will physically, mentally and emotionally feel better with consistent doses of CrossFit backed by a healthy diet (which we can also help with).
In March of 2011, an acquaintance of mine had just taken her first on ramp CrossFit class and was telling me about it. I was intrigued by what she was saying. And also, it totally sounded like something I would be able to beat her at, so of course I was in!! 2 days later, I joined her at a CrossFit in Ballard, for what would be a life changing event for me, my first CrossFit class. I think we went over ring holds and a few other movements, and then we did a workout. Out of about 10 people, I was the first one done with my workout. And that was it, I was hooked! I continued working out at Northwest until I ended up moving and having to look for a new gym. And I happened upon a gym that had just opened up in Totem Lakess.
CrossFit Level 1
In ‘07-’08 a friend turned me onto the ways of CF and I have been immersed ever since. I have seen fantastic results in the mantra of “functional movement” and apply it to a range of different sports that I continue being involved in, including snowsports. I also like stupid human tricks. Before joining a Crossfit gym, I used to terrorize a globo gym in downtown Seattle by doing tire flips with loaded metal bars, doing the forbidden kettlebell swings with dumbells, and occasionally doing goblet squats while standing on a mobility ball.
